Metropolice: Who's the thief?
CEBU, Philippines - Police in Mandaue City remain clueless on the identity of a burglar who took cash and expensive jewelry from a certain house in North Townhome's Subdivision in Barangay Cabancalan Thursday dawn.
This, according to Senior Police Officer 1 Renato Canja of Mandaue City Police Office in a follow up interview yesterday with BANAT News.
Canja said homeowner and businesswoman Cherry Mendoza, 25, was able to see the unidentified suspect jump off the house's window before disappearing in the dark.
Mendoza told Police Officer 3 Martin Lufranco, investigator, she woke to the noise inside the master's bedroom, prompting her to check the room where she saw the man scouring their drawer containing cash and jewelry.
The suspect was able to cart away a wedding ring with diamond that cost P250,000; two sets of earrings worth P80,000; another earring with diamond worth P80,000; two gold necklaces worth P40,000; an iPhone; and cash amounting to P25,000.
Authorities will carry out follow up investigation, looking at enhancing a video footage from the subdivision's closed-circuit television camera for the suspect's possible arrest. — Romeo T. Limpangog of BANAT News
