Security guard dies of stabbing
CEBU, Philippines - A security guard died after being attacked and stabbed by three unidentified persons at the South Road Properties access road last Tuesday.
Adonis Gungob, a security guard connected with the Topmatch Security Agency and worked at SM Properties, sustained multiple stab wounds on his left chest and left back portion of his body leading to his death.
SG Jason Baron, Gungob's colleague at work and companion during the incident, reportedly said that they were headed home around 7:50 p.m. when three unknown persons suddenly attacked Gungob and stabbed him.
Baron said that while they were on duty at around 5:15 p.m., Gungob allegedly confronted an unidentified construction worker for carrying pieces of wood when going out from SM Properties. He added that the confrontation led to a heated argument between the two.
SPO2 Rene Sabes of Mambaling Police said that the perpetrators already fled when the responding police team arrived at the crime scene.
Rubeliza Zaspa of the Basak Pardo Emergency Response said that the victim was already unresponsive and showed negative vital signs upon assessment.
The body of Gungob was taken for autopsy to St. Francis Funeral Homes.
Meanwhile, a man is now recuperating in the hospital after he was accidentally shot several times with a .45 caliber being borrowed by a suspect from a security guard off duty at a construction site in Sitio Huyong-huyong, Barangay Tawason, Mandaue City last Tuesday afternoon. (FREEMAN)
