CEBU, Philippines - Two hundred sixty personnel of the Republic Korean Army will arrive today at the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, as part of South Korea’s continuing support to typhoon victims in Northern Cebu and Tacloban City in Leyte.

Bong Hwan “Charlie” Cho, newly-elected president of the Cebu Korean Association said the members of  the Republic Korean Army will be dispatched and stationed for months to carry our relief missions and to provide humanitarian support to residents of Tacloban City.

Relief goods arrived here last month and were distributed to typhoon victims.

More than thirty countries have donated cash and relief goods to the national government through the Department of Social Welfare and Development and other national government agencies.

Some countries released the donations through non-governmental organizations.

Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base has been used as the distribution point of relief goods that come from other countries.  (FREEMAN)
