Man shot dead

CEBU, Philippines -  A 40-year-old man was shot dead yesterday morning in barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

Ervin Mession, alias "Awing," of sitio Cadajoan, barangay Talamban, sustained wounds on the chest and on his back allegedly by one Jimmy Mauro, 30, of  barangay Lorega, San Miguel, Cebu City. Mauro is at large.

PO2 Nilo Adventurado of the Homicide Section of  Cebu City Police Office said a day before the shooting, Mession reportedly punched Mauro.

"Nagbarug ang suspect unya gikamay ang biktima. Pagduol ni Mession, gisumbag niya  si Mauro," Adventurado said.

Last Tuesday morning, after the punching incident, Mauro reportedly threatened Mession saying “Karon ra ka kutob.”

Mession's cadaver was taken to St. Francis Funeral Homes for autopsy.

The police are yet to establish the motive for the killing.  (FREEMAN)
