Fire hits 12 houses in Lapu-Lapu

CEBU, Philippines -  Twelve houses were destroyed while a man sustained first degree burns when an early morning fire broke out in sitio Kagudoy, barangay Basak Lapu-Lapu City.

Cesar Molina sustained first degree burns on his face and right shoulder while trying to help put out the fire.

Molina was just given first aid at the barangay health center.

FO3 Teotino Vallar, officer-in-charge of Lapu-Lapu Fire Station, said they received the report at 1:05 am.

"Dako na ang kalayo atol sa pagresponde didto," Vallar said.

Fire investigators are yet to determine the cause of fire.

Damage to property was placed at P450,000.
