Talisay’s traffic enforcers carry handguns?
CEBU, Philippines - A supervisor of the City of Talisay Traffic Operation Development Authority (CT-TODA) has alleged that two traffic enforcers had tried to intimidate him by displaying their guns on separate occasions last Tuesday.
Traffic inspector Hilario Abastillas, Jr., 47, while on a routine inspection alleged that traffic enforcer Bryan Quimada pulled out a caliber .45 pistol from his waist bag and placed it on his lap for reasons unknown.
On the same day at around 8:30 p.m., Abastillas said traffic enforcers Quimada and Boynel Labonada pulled out guns and showed these to him at the CT-TODA office.
The supervisor of CT-TODA Cedentario Labajo yesterday claimed he cannot act on the matter because he has not been re-instated yet to his position after he filed an official leave when he ran for barangay captain in the last election.
But just the same, Labajo promised to investigate the incident and submit a report to Vice Mayor Romeo Villarante, chairman of CT-TODA. (FREEMAN)
