Mandaue CH workers urged to donate for typhoon victims

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Mayor Jonas Cortes yesterday urged Mandaue City hall employees to help typhoon victims in neighboring cities and towns in the province.

Cortes encouraged them to donate relief goods and some housing materials which they can drop in front of the city hall ground.

City administrator lawyer James Abadia said that after helping fellow Cebuanos in the north, the city’s advocacy to help will be extended to Tacloban and Ormoc.

Abadia talked yesterday to the City Budget Officer to look for funds for typhoon victims.

“We are looking for funds para sa northern part of Cebu for our sister municipality and other municipalities in the north,” Abadia said.

But there is no need to declare Mandaue under a state of calamity since the damage brought about by the typhoon is negligible. (FREEMAN)
