Alleged robber in Talisay falls

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly robbing two persons in barangay Poblacion, Talisay City yesterday dawn.

Arrested was Richie Daan of sitio Kilawan, barangay Tanke, Talisay City.

Robbed were April Cleo Luz Cañezares and Cherick Kim Mediano of barangay Poblacion, Talisay City of a wallet containing P4,800, a silver bracelet worth P2,500, and a cellular phone worth P9,000.

Senior Inspector Al Pascual with SPO1 Mikie Espina, SPO1 Yvonne Illustrisimo, PO1 Edwin Campomanes, and PO1 Stephen Sefuesca arrested Daan while playing an electronic game in barangay Tabunok.

The police recovered a  hand grenade, a cellular phone, and P605.00 from Daan.

Espina told The Freeman that Daan was arrested months ago for illegal possession of firearms.

He also said Daan was allegedly involved in some robbery incidents in the city.

Espina said Daan appears in the police station’s Gallery of Rogues where he was identified by his victims.

Charges of illegal possession of explosives and robbery were filed against Daan in the City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday. — (FREEMAN)
