Man shoots wife
CEBU, Philippines - A woman who was on her way home after attending a benefit dance was shot by her estranged husband yesterday dawn in sitio Buyong in barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City.
Hilda Malingin, 42, told police she was confronted by her estranged husband Edgar, 44, which led to a heated argument.
While arguing, he pulled out a gun and shot her in the leg.
The man fled while Hilda was taken to hospital by a daughter.
PO2 Winston Ybañez said jealousy may have driven the husband to shoot his wife who he may have seen dance with another man.
Hilda told police that she saw her husband, who now has a live-in partner, watching her while she was on the dance floor with her friends. (FREEMAN)
