JVR warns drug peddlers, addicts
CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Mayor Johnny De los Reyes has ordered the chief of police to clean the city of drug pushers and addicts.
De los Reyes told police chief Resty Santos to
to make at least three arrests weekly and policemen who arrest and prosecute suspects will be rewarded.
The mayor has also encouraged barangay leaders to help the police stamp out illegal drugs.
He said peace and order will always be in jeopardy while the illegal drug trade remains in the streets.
Lawyer Clarence Paul Oaminal, who is a consultant on the illegal drug campaign, handed De los Reyes a primer on the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
