Guidelines eyed for probing village execs

Jose P. Sollano - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City council will come up with guidelines for investigations of barangay officials who face complaints from residents.

City Councilor Alexander Gestopa, Jr. said the guidelines will be observed by the council when it investigates alleged erring barangay captains and other village officials.

The move was made in response to the letter of the Office of the Visayas Ombudsman forwarding to the city council a letter complaint of Pablo Talingting of sitio Malingin, barangay Punta Engaño against barangay captain Lourdes Ibag, barangay secretary Mildred Susan Siyag, and Alicia Pagobo, secretary of the Lupong Tagapamayapa.
