CEBU, Philippines - Two men armed with a toy gun and a knife held up a call center agent while on board a jeepney yesterday dawn along Hernan Cortes Street corner A. S. Fortuna Street in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

Taken from Daffudil Gordillo, 27, married, of barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City were P1,200, a Blackberry phone worth P15,000, a Nokia phone of P5,000, a tablet worth P8,000, a pocket wi-fi valued at P2,900.

However, suspected robbers Ronel Mansuito, 18, a resident of sitio Bas, Maria Luisa Village, Cebu City and Milan Balili, 23, of barangay Tawason, Mandaue City were later found hiding in bushes near the area where the holdup took place.

The two men are now detained at the Casuntingan police station.

Casuntingan station chief Senior Inspector Ramil Morpos said Gordillo was on her way to work when held up.

Minutes after other passengers got off at A. S. Fortuna Street and leaving her all alone, two men boarded the jeepney and declared a holdup, aiming a toy gun and a knife at Gordillo.

Gordillo surrendered to them a brown bag containing gadgets and some money.

With the booty, the two men fled but Gordillo went after them, while at the same time shouting for help.

A concerned citizen offered her a ride but before they could reach a police station, responding policemen met them.

They went to the crime scene and police found the men hiding in the bushes.

Police found 2 disposable lighters, alleged shabu, tin foils, and a toy gun from Mansuito and alleged shabu and a knife from Balili.

Gordillo’s bag which contained her valuables was recovered.

Cases of robbery with intimidation were filed against the two men yesterday in the City Prosecutor’s Office. (FREEMAN)
