Driver ran over by own vehicle
CEBU, Philippines - A driver of a water tanker died after he was ran over by his own vehicle Thursday evening in barangay Candulawan, Minglanilla town.
Allan Nadela, 38, of barangay Inayagan, Naga City, was traveling home when his vehicle encountered a mechanical problem.
He got off the vehicle to check.
Nadela put a stopper in front of a tire to prevent the vehicle from moving forward since this part of the road slopes.
At this juncture, the vehicle moved and ran over him.
“Ni-abante ang truck kay dulhugon man unya mura ug wala kapugong ang iyang gibangil,†PO2 Nikki Carlo Plarisan, desk officer, said in a phone interview.
The truck even rammed a house owned by one Eric Ramos.
Ramos was watching television when he decided to go to the kitchen to get something to eat.
Seconds later, Nadela’s truck crashed into the house.
“Swerte kaayo kay ug wala ko mukuha ug makaon naigo na unta ko,†he said.
Nadela came from delivering water to a swimming pool from the other barangay when the incident happened.
He was rushed to the Minglanilla District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. (FREEMAN)
