Talisay SP measure directs OBO to strictly implement building code
CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City Council yesterday approved a proposed resolution directing the Office of the Building Official (OBO) and City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) to strictly implement the building code and water code.
City Councilor Socrates C. Fernandez, who is the chairman of the committee on public works and infrastructure, said the resolution will prevent future havoc and inconvenience to residents.
Fernandez said the P.D. 1096 or the Philippine National Building Code and the P.D. 1067 or the Water Code of the Philippines on compliance of builders must be obeyed to provide water easement and right-of-way shall be a vital concern.
“Complaints regarding unwarranted and unpermitted constructions of concrete fences, entrapment of water, among others, have reached us,†Fernandez said. – (FREEMAN)
