Police arrest “burglars;” stolen items recovered
CEBU, Philippines - Police recovered two brand new laptops and a handgun from three men who burglarized Sunday a wood furniture in barangay Tingub, Mandaue City.
The gadgets were about to be sold Monday evening by the three men when the police arrived.
Police chief Senior Insp. Wilson Abot said Jetron Sumabong, Victor Baynosa, and a certain Niño were walking along Zone Camanse, barangay Paknaan, carrying two bags when a police asset asked them where they were heading.
One of the suspects replied they were to sell laptops.
The asset immediately called Abot.
Abot said the police had a hard time getting to the men’s house since it was muddy.
When the three men noticed the presence of the police, they jumped off a window and eluded arrest.
Police recovered near the bags a .45 caliber of gun with two loaded magazines.
The laptops were worth P80,000 and owned by Onet Wood Furniture, which is located at Upper Tingub, Mandaue City.
The three men also stole a Samsung camera valued at P5,000; two other cameras worth P8,000, and a coin bank containing P4,000, and P6,000.
The main door of the establishment was forcibly opened. (FREEMAN)
