In Talisay, more than 1k temps to lose jobs
CEBU, Philippines - More than 1,000 job order employees will be without work before the new administration in Talisay City takes over on July 1.
Some employees assigned at the executive and legislative departments, employed by the outgoing administration of Mayor and Councilor-elect Socrates Fernandez, have started processing their clearances.
Human Resource chief Hazel Bathan said most of the co-terminus employees had processed their clearances to avail of benefits, particularly their terminal leave pay, before the new administration takes over by July 1.
Bathan said co-terminus officials, such as the city administrator, the information officer, and the legal officer, have similarly started processing their clearances.
Bathan also said that city officials such as Vice Mayor Alan Bucao, Rodi Cabigas, Bernard Odilao, and Celiapo Cabuenas are also working on their papers.
The transition team is making sure that all necessary work relative to the turnover of administration to Mayor-elect Johnny delos Reyes is finished a month before the takeover.
The transition team will meet with its counterparts for a smooth turnover of city hall.
More than 1,000 job order casuals are expected to lose their jobs, Bathan said. (FREEMAN)
