Thief arrested
CEBU, Philippines - A man was arrested for stealing a computer monitor from an internet café Thursday in barangay Cabangcalan, Mandaue City.
Arrested was Eric John Royo, 28, a resident of sitio Basbas, San Miguel Village in barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City.
Police seized from Royo the monitor and crushed marijuana leaves.
Royo is now detained at the Casuntingan police station.
Police said Royo entered the internet café at around 2 p.m. pretending to be a customer.
Minutes after Royo toyed with a computer, the cafe’s attendant, Shiela Mae Salinas, 22, made herself busy.
In a little while, Royo placed the monitor inside his bag and went out of the cafe.
As soon as Salinas noticed the computer monitor was missing, she went out and saw Royo walking away.
She shouted for help, “Tabang! Kawatan! Kawatan!â€
Bystanders sprang to their feet and chased Royo, while a concerned citizen in the area called for police assistance. (FREEMAN)
