Customs sub-port of Mactan passes Civil Service test

Bong Soriano - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Customs sub-port of Mactan at the Mactan Cebu International Airport was one of three Customs offices out of 11 Customs offices nationwide that passed the Anti-Red Tape test conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently.

Some 150 government agencies failed the CSC anti-red tape test.

The Customs Port of Manila was rated “good” while Customs Port of Batangas and the sub-port of Mactan was rated “acceptable.”

The sub-port of Mactan is under the control of lawyer Paul Alcazaren as collector.

Deputy Collector Cerilo “Dacky” Ugay and Deputy Collector for Assessment Fe Toring said part of the transparency program in the office is to change the physical condition of every office such as installing a glass door and open cubicles so as to remove suspicions of under-the-table deals.  (FREEMAN)
