Worker slain over personal grudge

CEBU, Philippines -  He survived the first attempt on his life last January 7 but Roland Pabonita, of legal age, was not so fortunate yesterday as one of two men on a motorcycle shot and killed him in barangay Pagsabungan, Mandaue City.

Pabonita was shot twice in the abdomen and taken to the Eversley Hospital and Sanitarium in barangay Jagobiao in Mandaue.

A man who witnessed the crime as it transpired said he saw the man behind the motorcycle driver aim and fire his gun at Pabonita who was travelling in an Isuzu Elf truck.

Police said Pabonita’s employer had said his worker cheated death last Jan. 7 over an alleged personal grudge.
