Bucao asks council to allow realtor to develop govt land
CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Vice Mayor Alan G. Bucao, who is the chairman of the committee on tourism, wants the city council to authorize Mayor Socrates Fernandez to allow a private individual to lease and commercially develop a government property in barangay Poblacion.
Oscar Jereza Jr., representative of the Jereza-Haron Property, has submitted to the city council a proposed perspective of the development.
The family has expressed interest in leasing the lot fronting the USP Compound with an area of 35-meters by five meters.
Bucao said the development would foster tourist attraction in the area as the proposed development is designed to complement the historically significant American Landing Site.
The contract of lease of agreement between the city government and Jereza-Haron will be discuss in today’s council session for review and ratification.
If the council concurs, the city government will grant 10 years lease subject to renewal to Jereza-Haron Property for the development of a government-owned lot fronting the Jereza-Haron Property in barangay Poblacion. (FREEMAN)
