Party-list endorses 3 LP bets in Talisay

CEBU, Philippines - The group of Lee Consul, Aldin Diaz, and Bensing Raguindin, candidates for councilor under the Liberal Party, said their chances of winning have been greatly boosted by the endorsement from Sanlakas, which is a multi-sectoral and party-list organization.  

“Sanlakas will support team CDR,” Sanlakas spokesperson Teody Navea told reporters.

However, Navea said it doesn’t follow Sanlakas will support the entire slate of the Liberal Party in Talisay.

Nalvea said Sanlakas will invite other candidates from the administration and opposition. 

Diaz thank the organization for the support in the upcoming elections.

Consul and Raguindin hopes other members of the LP will get endorsements from Sanlakas. 

In a separate interview, Councilor Danilo Caballero said the LP cannot stop other groups or organizations from endorsing candidates.

Caballero said they have no ill-feelings toward team CDR, which has visited barangays without LP mayoralty aspirant Johnny “JVR” delos Reyes and his running mate, Talisay City Councilor Romeo Villarante.

“This is the essence of democracy. We cannot stop Sanlakas or any other organization kung kinsa ang ilang i-endorse,” Caballero said. (FREEMAN)
