Unsightly motorcycles

Brenda Batuto - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Signs of complete neglect are apparent in more than 30 unclaimed motorcycles impounded by the Talisay City police.

Rust, with a little help from the sun and rain, has grabbed hold of the motorcycles at the impounding area of Talisay City police station in barangay Poblacion.

Inspector Margienette Yosores said some of the motorcycles are being held as evidence in cases the police have filed against suspected robbers.

Still, some were abandoned near checkpoints.

Yosores said some of these were impounded five years ago.

In the company of the motorcycles is a Kia Pride car impounded two years ago, which was allegedly used as a carrier for stolen motorcycles.  (FREEMAN)
