Talisay collects fees from meat suppliers

CEBU, Philippines - Meat suppliers whose hogs and cattle were not slaughtered at the Talisay City abattoir will have to pay fees if they wish to do business in the city.

Talisay City Veterinarian Santiago Hortel said a city ordinance, approved November 27, 2012 and implemented last January 1, authorizes the collection of regulatory service fees from such suppliers.

The supplier will pay P15 per head for hog and cattle, P1 per kilo for imported meat and P.50 per dressed chicken. (FREEMAN)
