Man, 19, survives suicide try

CEBU, Philippines - A 19-year-old man almost died after slitting his throat allegedly following a breakup with his girlfriend.

The man, of Negros Oriental, is temporarily residing at Sector 5 in barangay Pagsabungan, Mandaue City.

His landlady saw blood oozing from his throat at around 6 a.m. yesterday and took him to hospital.

Police said the man’s mobile phone registers a sent message which says “Day, ugma patay na ko.”

The police are yet to establish the identity of the sender of the message.

His co-boarders said he had previously quarreled with his girlfriend that night. (FREEMAN)
