Korean tourist foils rob attempts

CEBU, Philippines - Two unidentified Korean nationals stabbed and tried to rob a fellow Korean national Tuesday along Archbishop Reyes Avenue in Cebu City.

Jun Beoh Jun Ku, a Korean national, 28, and a tourist was stabbed by two unidentified fellow Korean nationals who tried to rob him while along Archbishop Reyes last Tuesday around 4:00 in the morning.

Jun Beoh was on his way home when two unidentified men, believed to be Koreans, approached him from behind and with the use of bladed instruments declared a holdup.

Jun Beoh refused to give up his belongings. He wrestled with them, prompting the suspects to stab him.

Jun Beoh sustained stab wounds on his body and managed to escape, and went to a disco bar where his girlfriend, Wanda Alcantara, works.

Police said that prior to the incident, Jun Beoh went to the disco bar to visit his girlfriend.

After a short conversation, Jun Beoh asked for permission to go home.

Wanda was shocked to see Jun Beoh running towards her bloodied.

Wanda took Jun Beoh to Perpetual Succour Hospital.

According to SPO4 Ernesto Panaligan, the suspects spoke Korean.

He said nothing was taken from Jun Beoh. (FREEMAN)
