Talisay cops intensify saturation campaign

CEBU, Philippines -  Four suspected illegal drug users were arrested Wednesday evening in a house in barangay Tangke, Talisay as the police step up their saturation drive prior to the celebration of the thanksgiving mass for San Pedro Calungsod today.

Arrested were Allan Reyes, 21, Alden Barok, 24, both married and residents of sitio Rattan, Tangke, Vincent Sillacay, 28, single, and Elizalde Abella, 47, married,all residents of barangay Tulay and Pakigne in Minglanilla town.

Seized were drug paraphernalia and charges are being readied against the men who are now detained at the Talisay City detention cell.

The police failed to arrest the house owner.

Police station chief Superintendent Eddie Recamara, who led the operation, told Banat News (sister publication of The Freeman) the saturation drive against lawless elements has been put in effect to tighten the security for the faithful who would attend the mass today.

He said the police are raiding places where criminals are known to get together.  (FREEMAN)
