Seven arrested for shabu, marijuana possession

CEBU, Philippines - Four men were arrested during a buy-bust operation in barangay Labogon, Mandaue City Monday for selling shabu.

First to be arrested was Benedicto Manatad, alias ‘Kumander’ as he handed two packets containing a white substance suspected to be shabu.

Manatad also yielded more of the white substance and P2,000.

The police also arrested Apolinario Bantigue, 53, and  Rene Manatad, 23, who were in the vicinity, and looked suspicious. When frisked, both men yielded suspected shabu. 

Basak police station chief P Sr./Insp. Wilson Abot said Benedicto Manatad has been selling shabu for only four months now.

During interrogation Benedicto told Abot he got his supply of shabu in barangay Duljo, Cebu City.

In another development, two juveniles were arrested yesterday dawn for selling marijuana while another was arrested for buying marijuana from the two.

One of the juveniles said the marijuana comes from a friend who lives in the neighborhood.

Police also arrested one Alipio Basanez who was caught buying two sticks of marijuana from one of the juveniles.

All seven suspects are now detained at the Basak police station. – (FREEMAN)
