Hike in honorarium of day care workers in Talisay proposed

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Councilor Dennis Basillote, chairman of the committee on education, seeks to boost the honorarium of day care workers in the city.

Basillote said day-care center workers deserve to receive more from the local government for their sacrifices and the quality of service they provide in nurturing children.

In his proposed ordinance, Basillote recommends the doubling of the honorarium from P2,000 to P4,000.

“The voluntary service every day care worker renders deserves something in return,” he said.

Basillote said the honorarium from the city government will encourage and inspire further day care workers to continue with their endeavors “to ensure that our children are molded to become better citizens.”  (FREEMAN)
