CEBU, Philippines - The 78th Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will provide maximum security coverage and public safety services in Talisay City, Minglanilla town and Naga City during the “Undas.”

All Saints Day, celebrated today, signals the start of the celebration and All Souls Day tomorrow, the collective remembrance of the Day of the Dead.

First Lieutenant Jorry Vinluan of the Philippine Army, who is also the commanding officer of the 78th IB Bravo Company, said augmentation forces from the Philippine National Police will maintain peace and order. 

Vinluan will work with Talisay City police chief Eddie Recamara.

Starting at 6 in the morning today, strict coordination, monitoring and incident reporting will be observed, and that policemen will always be ready to act.

These annual events are expected to bring an influx of people from all walks of life to cemeteries. The police in Talisay will be in five cemeteries, namely, the Evergreen Memorial Garden in Cebu South Coastal Road, a public cemetery each in barangays Tanke, Cansojong, Poblacion, and the private cemetery in Cebu South Memorial Garden in barangay Lower Mohon. (FREEMAN)
