Man, 39, arrested for selling shabu

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a 39-year-old man for possession of shabu during a buy-bust operation in barangay Dapitan, Cordova town early morning yesterday.

Arrested was Charles “Paklay” Wahing. He is now detained at the Cordova stockade.

The shabu seized from Wahing was placed in packets.

Chief Insp. Alvin Balio, Cordova police chief, said Wahing was a noted drug pusher in the barangay and known to have the capacity to dispose of about P10,000 to P20,000 worth of shabu in a day.

Balio said the arrest was carried out after Wahing handed over shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P200.

He did not resist arrest, Balio said.

Also seized from Wahing were a disposable lighter and a cellular phone.

“Naa mi nadawat nga report nga kada-mahjong ani naa ra’y muduol unya mupalit niya so kada duwa naa gyud ni dala,” Balio said.

Wahing’s brother and three other cohorts were also arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation recently.  (FREEMAN)
