CEBU, Philippines - P Sr./Supt. Petronelli Baldebrin is now the new Mandaue City Police Office director, replacing outgoing PSr./Supt. Noel Gillamac, his classmate at the Philippine National Police Academy “Tagapaglingkod” class of 1987.
Gillamac held the position for two years and 10 months and will take over the post vacated by Baldebrin at the PRO-7 as the Chief of the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Division.
Yesterday’s turnover ceremony was facilitated by P Sr./Supt. Orlando Ualat, the chief of the Directorial Staff of the Police Regional Office and witnessed by Mayor Jonas Cortes who picked Baldebrin from a list of five nominees the PRO-7 had submitted.
Gillamac yesterday thanked Cortes for the support the city government had extended to the entire police force.
Baldebrin, in his speech, said the footprints left behind by his predecessor will serve as his guiding trail signs to sustain the strides of MCPO.
He also considers his new position as an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills that he had learned from his senior officers and his experiences in his assignments both local and international.
The new MCPO director was a former member of the UN peacekeeping force thrice having served in East Timor twice and once in Kosovo.
Cortes has assured the city government’s continuous support to the police. (FREEMAN)
