CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office said it is watching three small ports in Mandaue City for fear these could easily be used as transshipment points for illegal drugs and other contraband.
MCPO director Noel Gillamac said being watched are the Ouano wharf, Looc wharf, and the Labogon wharf.
The police have yet to intercept contraband such as illegal drugs or stolen cars from boats leaving for the islands of Bohol, Siquijor, and Leyte.
For lack of men to watch the wharfs around the clock, the police rely on assets or tipsters. (FREEMAN)
