CEBU, Philippines – The Lapu-Lapu City government has purchased seven new multicabs for the police in a bid to boost mobility and visibility.
Mayor Paz Radaza and other city officials attended the vehicles’ blessing, which was done in front of the city hall and officiated by Virgen de la Regla parish priest Father James Duero.
Radaza said City Police Chief Senior Superintendent Rey Lyndon Lawas had requested her for additional police vehicles.
Radaza said one of the multi-cabs will go to the police station in Olango Island and the three others to the police stations in the city mainland.
The city mayor said barangay tanods who assist the police will also be given one.
Radaza hopes the police will prioritize visibility in places such as in the Mactan Export Processing Zone 1 and 2 in barangays Pusok and Basak. – THE FREEMAN
