3 men arrested for selling shabu

CEBU, Philippines - Three men were nabbed by police for selling shabu in Barangay Dapitan, Cordova town last Friday afternoon.

Brothers Rolly Jumao-as, 21, and Romar Jumao-as, 19, and their friend, Edwin Nuñez, 40, were arrested during a buy-bust operation. The three are residents of Barangay Dapitan.

P/CInsp. Alvin Balio said they hatched the bust after a week-long surveillance on the three suspects. They conducted the surveillance after receiving information that the three were conniving with each other in selling shabu in the area.

A poseur buyer bought a deck of shabu from the suspects at a dim portion of Barangay Dapitan using marked money worth P200. Back-up policemen arrested the suspects after the sale was consummated.

Police were able to recover the marked money, cash worth P400 believed to be the proceeds of selling shabu and 10 small packets of the substance.

Balio said the suspects never had previous records and may just be new players who earn a percentage of what they can sell.

The suspects admitted this, saying someone just delivers their share to them. They reportedly earn P20 per deck of shabu.

The three are detained at the Cordova Police station pending the filing of charges against them.
