2 men arrested for selling shabu

CEBU, Philippines - Two men were arrested during a buy-bust operation Thursday evening for selling shabu in sitio Pilit in barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City.

However, one of the two suspects attempted to flee from the policemen, while at the same time getting rid of the shabu he had in his possession.

But operatives of the City Intelligence Branch headed by P/Insp.Alexander Nuñez picked up the illegal drugs from the road.

The buy-bust operation was conducted after the police received information that a certain Bada and a certain Jaime were selling illegal drugs in the place.

During the operation, police arrested Jaime Alvarina, 45, married, jobless, and a resident of the place after handing to a poseur buyer one small pack of shabu in exchange for P200.

When he saw his companion being arrested, the other suspect called “Bada,” who was later identified as Rodel Ceniza, ran to evade arrest, and was chased by the operatives.

Ceniza, while running away, was seen getting rid of a blue plastic container.

The police, in pursuit of him, picked up the container and found five small packs of shabu and two pieces aluminum foil inside it.

Ceniza was cornered and arrested.

The two men were taken to the Casuntingan police station where they are being detained now. – THE FREEMAN
