Principal catches student bringing gun to school
CEBU, Philippines - A third year high school student was arrested for bringing a gun to school Wednesday night.
SPO1 Mikie Espina said the San Isidro National High School principal caught the 16-year-old carrying a .22 magnum revolver and turned him over to the police.
Espina said last July 24, the boy allegedly threatened to shoot two of his classmates — Jenelyn, 19, and April, 15 — with the pistol.
He was released from police custody after the principal and his classmates declined to file charges against him.
“Amo ra pud dayong gibuhian tungod kay milapas na sa reglamentary period ug wala man mopasaka og kaso ang prinsipal ug ang mga estudyante,” Espina said.
The boy, however, denied being a member of any fraternity group.
He said he carried a gun to protect himself from his enemies outside the campus. - THE FREEMAN
