Woman found dead in Toledo

CEBU, Philippines - A woman, believed to be a victim of summary execution, was found dead in Barangay Cantao-an, Toledo City while another man died at a resort in sitio Baring, Gibitngil Island, Medellin town.

The police have not established the identity of the woman, who bore marks that would suggest she was strangled.

The woman was 5’1” tall, medium in built, brown skin, straight shoulder-length hair, dressed in black and white sleeveless shirt and a pair of maong pants.

A motorcycle-for-hire driver reportedly discovered the body along the barangay road of Cantao-an around 6:05 in the morning yesterday.

Police said the body did not have any open wounds except for a bruises around the neck.

Supt. Eduardo Saavedra, Naga City police chief, told The FREEMAN they are coordinating with the Cantao-an barangay officials in identifying the body.

“Kung wa gyud gani kaila ani possibly visitor lang diha or didto patya sa laing lugar pero diha lang gilabay,” Saavedra said in a phone interview.

The body was taken to the Mountain View Funeral Homes in Barangay Inayagan, Naga City for autopsy.  (FREEMAN)
