CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City College now has a new administrator.
Mayor Jonas Cortes and the local school board yesterday installed Dr. Teresa Ynot, 55, who resides in barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City.
Ynot earned her B.S. Psychology degree in 1971 from Silliman University in Dumagute City where she graduated magna cum laude.
She earned her Masters in Management, major in public service, from the University of San Jose Recoletos, Cebu City in 1997, and graduated with a doctor’s degree in management from the same school in 2002.
She earned her masters degree in education, major in special education, from the Cebu Technological University in 2010.
Prior to her installation as the new MCC administrator yesterday, she worked as the regional manager of the National Home Mortgage Finance Corp from 1990 to 2007, was head of the community extension service of the Center for International Education (CIE) from 2010-2011, and is a faculty member of the USJ-R 2011-2012.
The installation of Ynot came after the Civil Service Commission ruled that Dr. Susana Cabahug, the former administrator of MCC was not qualified for the position.
Cabahug only holds a Security II appointment from the city government.
She was installed as OIC administrator in 2007 by former city Vice Mayor Amadeo Seno who was then acting mayor after the city government lost confidence in former president Paulus Mariae Cañete.
With his ouster from the city government, Cañete continued to hold on to his post as MCC president but in a separate campus, which is not recognized by the city.
