CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher was arrested by operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group of the Mandaue City Police Office and the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Subangdaku last Tuesday afternoon.

Glen Cambonga, 33, a resident of San Antonio Village, Apas, Cebu City was placed under arrest right after he handed a small packet of shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P500.

Police also recovered from Cambonga two medium packets and two small packets of shabu worth P5,000, as well as cash worth P286 believed to be the proceeds of Cambonga’s illegal drug trade.

Insp. Alexander Nuñez, team leader of CAIDSOTG, said Cambonga was under surveillance for a few weeks after they received complaints of his illegal drug activities.

It was around 3:20 p.m. when the poseur buyer met Cambonga at a corner in Hernan Cortes St. in Barangay Subangdaku where the transaction was consummated.

Nuñez said Cambonga was a level three drug pusher who could dispose shabu not only in Mandaue City but also in Cebu City.

Cambonga has a pending case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Anti-Illegal Drugs Act of 2002 in Cebu City. He is currently detained at the Mandaue Police stockade. - THE FREEMAN
