Guard, 45, arrested for "rape" of girl, 12

CEBU, Philippines -  A 45-year-old security guard is being detained at Subangdaku police station for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl.

Noel Escura, a native of Villahermoso, San Carlos City, was arrested yesterday morning after the girl told her stepmother that she was raped five times starting last Wednesday until Friday.

The stepmother went to the police and it wasn’t long before the police arrested Escura in barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.

Escura claimed the girl tempted him.

“Kami na lang duha nahibilin. Naibog man daw siya nako. Gi-kissan ko niya una ug giingnan ko niya nga pabira (to have sex) siya,” Escura alleged.

 The girl was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center to check whether she was really raped.     - THE FREEMAN
