Lapu-Lapu City prepares for the heavy downpours

CEBU, Philippines - Mayor Paz Radaza issued a memorandum to the City Engineering Office and other offices to initiate a clean-up campaign along Mayor Maximo V. Patalinghug Avenue  up to George Tampus road in barangay Basak.

The memorandum was addressed to Lapu-Lapu City Engineering Office Officer-in-Charge Allan Pedrigal, City Environment and Natural Resources office head Roderico Tagaan, Mariom Ymbong, head of the City’s Clean and Green Program, and Engr. Basilio Singson, Jr. of the City PDMU section.

Radaza said the clean-up is needed to ensure a free flow of rainwater into the city’s drainage system.

The city mayor said that utilization of equipment and personnel should be properly coordinated in order to finish the task at hand promptly.

Radaza said Basak and neighboring barangays are prone to flooding.  (FREEMAN)
