Fugitive expected to surrender soon
CEBU, Philippines - Police expect the Mandaue City Jail inmate who escaped from his escorts to surrender soon.
Investigative and Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) deputy chief P/Insp. Ramil Morpos said he has received information that fugitive Ricky Andujar has difficulty walking due to wounds on his feet inflicted by thorns while running away from the police.
Morpos said the latest information received say that a family member is now making a cane to help Andujar walk.
However police doubt if Andujar can withstand the pain without seeing a doctor.
It was the second time Andujar eluded capture by the police.
Last week, days after he escaped he was spotted in the house of an aunt in Liloan town but was able to elude arrest.
Last Saturday evening, he again avoided arrest in his place in barangay Binaliw allegedly through the help of his mother Siberina Andujar and a cousin.
Yesterday, a case for harboring a criminal was filed against the mother and the cousin in the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office. – (FREEMAN)
