CEBU, Philippines - Hundreds of residents in barangay San Vicente Island in Lapu-Lapu City joined yesterday’s Baliw-Baliw festival which coincided with the celebration of the fiesta held in honor of its patron, St. San Vicente Ferrer. As this developed, organizers of the festival defended the actuations of those who marked the festival saying it is their way of expressing thanks for the blessings they have received. This is the time when men in this barangay wear women’s clothes.
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza and city officials witnessed the festival.
Vice Mayor Marcial Ycong and members of the city council joined the celebration after their council session was held at the mini city hall in barangay Talima.
