CEBU, Philippines - Jadewell Parking System Corporation whose contract with Mandaue City has been rescinded will, for the time being, comply with the cease and desist order issued by Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes.Jadewell operations manager Thomas Villanueva said while the company’s legal department is looking into the matter, it will obey the order.
Jadewell, whose offices are located at barangay Ibabao-Estancia, received the order at around 3:30 p.m.
The cease and desist order came after the city rescinded its contract with the towing company last May 5.
City administrator James Abadia in an interview yesterday said Jadewell has no authority anymore to tow vehicles.
He said anybody whose vehicle has been towed by the company without his consent can file a complaint.
He said the police will even arrest Jadewell personnel for defying the order.
The city has sent the Mandaue City Police Office a copy of the notice of the city’s rescission of contract with the company. (FREEMAN)
