CEBU, Philippines - A man died while two others were wounded during a shooting incident at the Umapad dumpsite in Mandaue City Wednesday evening.
Pedro Saladaga was shot on the chest and died instantly.
His 21-year-old son Avelio Saladaga sustained a gunshot wound on the left thigh while Martiliano Rusco, 28, sustained a gunshot wound on his upper back portion.
The police said Saladaga was shot by Rodante Pelayo, 24, a native of San Remegio town but temporarily residing at sitio Tambis in barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.
Both Avelio Saladaga and Rusco are now confined at the Mandaue City Hospital.
Hours after the shooting, Pelayo surrendered to the Opao police station with his uncle PO3 Teofilo Calongin, a policeman assigned at the Police Regional Ofice -7.
Opao police station chief P Sr. Insp Stephen Amamag-id said Pelayo immediately went to the house of Calongin in barangay Bacayan, Cebu City to help him facilitate his surrender.
Charges are being readied against Pelayo. (FREEMAN)
