CEBU, Philippines - A man was shot dead while his live-in partner was wounded while on their way home on a motorcycle at around 11 p.m. Tuesday in Lapu-Lapu City.Killed on the spot was Junrey Cabinte, 29, of sitio Bato, barangay Ermita, Cebu City while his live-in partner Yvonne Miral, of legal age, sustained gunshot wounds on the arms and legs.
Police said the couple visited a friend that day in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.
While traveling along Punta Rizal Street in barangay Pajo, another motorcycle with two men on board sidled to the couple’s motorcycle and in an instant, one of the men fired at the couple and then escaped.
Paramedics took the wounded to Mactan Doctors’ Hospital. Cabinte was already dead upon arrival.
Homicide investigator PO2 Franklin Bulaquia said the reason for the attack has yet to be established. (FREEMAN)
