Korean detained for taking friend's money

CEBU, Philippines - A Korean national is being detained by the police for allegedly taking P170,000 from a fellow Korean national Tuesday evening.

Kee Yung Hae, 35, a Korean national based in barangay Lagtang,Talisay City is now detained at the Subangdaku police station after withdrawing cash through the use of the ATM card of his friend Jang Junayu, 51, of sitio Kagudoy, Basak, LapuLapu City.

SPO1 Benjamin Enolpe said Jang asked Kee to withdraw P190,000 from the ATM at Banco de Oro at Parkmall.

Kee did not go back to Jang’s house with the money.

However, one of Jang’s friends told Jang that Kee was hiding in a friend’s house.

Jang went to the house and chased Kee who tried to escape.

The police were alerted and arrested Kee. Charges are being readied against him. - THE FREEMAN
