CEBU, Philippines - The Eversly Child Sanitarium and Hospital in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City will receive P1million from Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. as assistance to indigent patients.
The money was taken from Revilla’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
Revilla and the hospital signed a memorandum of agreement that indicates the technicalities covering the donation.
The signatories were the senator himself and Felixberto Eltanal, the hospital’s supervising administrative officer and witnessed by PB Thadeo Ouano, Mandaue City councilors headed by city councilors Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon, Beethoven Andaya, Jimmy Lumapas, Demetrio “Jun” Cortes, Ernie Manatad, and city Councilor Nenita Layese.
Patients may avail of free medicines, laboratory tests, thyroid scan, dialysis, ECG, X-ray cobalt, and other laboratory procedures.
The beneficiaries of the medical assistance are indigent residents of the Mandaue City who will be identified by barangay officials and the office of Ouano-Dizon.
“Ito ay tulong pangkalusugan sa ating maliliit na kababayan na nangangailangan nang tulong medical dahil napakamahal ang magkasakit ngayon,” Revilla said in his speech yesterday.
Eltanal in a separate interview said steps will be taken to make sure that Revilla’s medical assistance will not go to waste.
Last Year, Eversly became the center of controversy after the office of sixth district Representative Luigi Quisumbing complained about alleged misuse of the legislator’s medical assistance. (FREEMAN)
