Mactan readies for "Kadaugan"

CEBU, Philippines - Preparations for the 491st “Battle of Mactan” now called “Kadaugan sa Mactan” is in full blast considering that Lapu-Lapu City officials wouldn’t settle for a mediocre celebration.

“Kadaugan Street Party,” which will be held on the same day, will add color to the yearly activity.

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza said the working committees are determined to make everything work come April27.

Councilor Harry Radaza expects thousands of visitors from neighboring town and cities to descend on the city.

He said tanods and the police will be on hand to help make the celebration peaceful. - THE FREEMAN
