Dual-purpose purok system in Liloan

CEBU, Philippines - The purok system already in effect in barangays in Liloan town keeps an eye on cleanliness and the environment as well as maintains peace and order.

Barangay San Vicente captain Danilo Fuentes told The FREEMAN the system is able to assist the police monitor movements of residents in the barangay.

Fuentes said purok presidents and members know each other “busa dali ra kaayo mahibaw-an kon adunay mga bag-ong dagway diha sa matag purok.”

Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco said the purok also supports the clean and green program of the municipal government.  (FREEMAN)
